Each week, Just Another Sports Show picks a great moment and an equally awful one, plus a key matchup that is not to be missed.

Most Amazing
The Oregon Ducks upset Stanford on Saturday night in a big way. The Ducks scored first, went for a two-point conversion, and never let the lead go after that. The Ducks won 53-30 mainly thanks to LeMichael James, the Ducks running back ran for 146 yards and had 3 TDs, he also caught one pass for 10 yards.
For a recap of this game check out ESPN

C'Mon Man!
The Baltimore Ravens had the lead in the AFC north and the entire conference after a season sweep of the Steelers. To keep the lead, all they had to do was beat a team with only two wins on the whole season. The Ravens went away from their normal game plan of establishing the run, and it cost them the game. Ray Rice only carried the ball five times while Joe Flacco threw 52 passes. The Ravens could not come back after being down 10-0 in the first and lost 22-17.

What 2 Watch 4
San Diego Chargers at Chicago Bears
4:15 p.m. Solider Field Chicago, Ill
This is a game both teams need to win if they want to stay alive in their divisions. The AFC West is a mess right not and every win counts in that division. The NFC North should be easily won by Green Bay so Detroit and Chicago will be fighting until the end for playoff spots or rankings.

My NFL Picks Week 11

New York Jets at Denver
My Pick:

This a game the Jets must win. On the other side of the ball Tim Tebow has brought a new perspective to quarterbacks around the league. A guy who is 3-1 as a starter this season has found unconventional ways to win. If the Jets want to stay alive in the AFC East they must win this game because they do not have any easy schedule ahead of them. Denver's defense has not been good but it all depends on the play of Sanchez

Buffalo at Miami
My Pick:

Cincinnati at Baltimore
My Pick:

Baltimore suffered an embarrassing lost to the 206 Seahawks last week to knock them out of first place in the AFC North and the whole conference. Andy Dalton has played great for the Bengals, looks for Dalton to have a good game against the Ravens and find a way to win.

Jacksonville at Cleveland
My Pick:

Dallas at Washington
My Pick:

Carolina at Detroit
My Pick:

Tampa Bay at Green Bay
My Pick:

Oakland at Minnesota
My Pick:

Seattle at St. Louis
My Pick:

Arizona at San Francisco
My Pick:

Tennessee at Atlanta
My Pick:

San Diego at Chicago
My Pick:

The Bears embarrassed the Lions last week in a land slide victory. San Diego, a team normally close to perfect in November and December since 2007 has lost both November games they have played. Look for Chicago's defense to play well against the Chargers and improve to 7-3. This bears team who is in the same division as the undefeated Packers needs to win every game it can to stay alive in the playoffs.

Philadelphia at New York Giants
My Pick:

Kansas City at New England
My Pick:

Each week, Just Another Sports Show picks a great moment and an equally awful one, plus a key matchup that is not to be missed.

Most Amazing
The Giants got the upper hand on the Patriots on a last second scoring drive capped off with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Jake Ballard. The Patriots scored with 1:36 left in the fourth quarter but left just enough time for the Giants to come back. The Giants beat New England to hand them their first home loss in 20 games and also sent them to their first two game loosing streak since 2002.

C'Mon Man!
The Pittsburgh Steelers had a chance to take a commanding lead in the AFC and take control of the AFC North by beating the Ravens at home last Sunday night. A delay of game penalty took the Steelers out of 47 yard field goal range and forced them to punt. The punt landed on the 8 yard line and all the Steelers had to do was stop a 92 yard drive by Baltimore. They could not do that and Baltimore scored a touchdown with a few seconds left to give Baltimore the lead 23-20 and a season sweep of the Steelers.

What 2 Watch 4
7 Oregon at 4 Stanford
Stanford Stadium, Stanford, CA 8PM on ABC
This is the first true test for Stanford and these two teams play for first place in the PAC-12 and could lead to a National Championship appearance.

Miller's Ale House, a great place to catch EVERY sporting event

The Miller's East Boca Ale House is located on Yamato Road just west of Military Trail. Below is a map from Florida Atlantic University. They have Sunday NFL Ticket, NHL Game Center, and the ability to watch every NBA, MLB and NCAA football and basketball games. Any sporting event you want to see they have it. Every Saturday and Sunday they have a special menu that offers deals for game day. They have one called the Buffalo Trio, it is 10 breaded scrimp, 5 wings and 5 zingers, the Ale House's signature chicken tenders, for only $10.95. Another deal is the Tailgater, which is 10 wings and a half rack of ribs for $12.95. These deals are cheaper than buying those items at normal price. They also have a full bar with liquor and over 30 beers on tap. Miller products are the cheapest there since they sponsor the restaurant. Pitchers of Miller products are only $6 and a pint is $2.

My NFL Picks Week 10

Oakland at San Diego
My Pick: San Diego
The AFC West is a complete mess right now. No team is constant right now and there has been quarterback changes on two out of the four teams. Right now three teams are tied at first place. Both of these teams and Kansas City are at 4-4. None of these teams are constant right now, Kansas City has the advantage because of head-to-head win percentage. San Diego is on a 3-game loosing streak and needs to rebound to keep in the division. Oakland is still looking for Carson Palmer to be the trade they were looking for. In his first two games as a Raider he has 3 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Look for Philip Rivers to out play Palmer in San Diego.

New Orleans at Atlanta
My Pick: New Orleans

Buffalo at Dallas
My Pick: Buffalo

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati
My Pick: Pittsburgh

St. Louis at Cleveland
My Pick: Cleveland

Denver at Kansas City
My Pick: Denver

Tennessee at Carolina
My Pick: Carolina

Jacksonville at Indianapolis
My Pick Indianapolis
Look for Indianapolis to get there first win of there season. Last week the other winless team in the league, Miami, got their first win. Jacksonville's only two wins came from Tennessee in week 1 and they snuck away with a win on Monday Night Football against Baltimore. Indianapolis lost three games by less than 5 points and  play at home against a bad Jacksonville team.

Washington at Miami
My Pick: Miami

Arizona at Philadelphia
My Pick: Philadelphia

Houston at Tampa Bay
My Pick: Houston

Baltimore at Seattle
My Pick: Baltimore

Detroit at Chicago
My Pick: Chicago

New York Giants at San Francisco
My Pick: San Francisco

New England at New York Jets
My Pick: New England
New England has not lost two games since December of 2002. Two weeks ago they lost to the Steelers and last week they lost a close one to the Giants. The last time they lost 3 in a row was early in the 2002 season. Look for New England to rebound against the Jets. Both teams and Buffalo are at 5-3 and New England can pull away in the division with a win on Sunday Night Football.

Minnesota at Green Bay
My Pick: Green Bay

Thursday, November 3, 2011

The Baltimore Ravens travel to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football for the lead in the division and the AFC

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens rivalry is arguably the best in the NFL right now. Year in and year out we see these teams fighting for the division lead and playoff spots. This is a match up where we might see more 15-yard penalties than touchdowns. Last year in Baltimore Haloti Ngata broke Ben Roethlisberger’s nose during a pass attempt. These teams do not play nice.

This year’s second meeting of these teams is going to be a good one. Baltimore embarrassed Pittsburgh in the season opener 35-7. Pittsburgh played sloppy in this game and Baltimore took advantage of it scoring early and often.  Pittsburgh’s 7 turnovers set them up to an NFL’s worst -10 turnover ratio. They also sacked Ben four times who had 3 interceptions and 2 fumbles in the loss. Since then the Steeler’s have gone 6-1 and look to avenge this lost after a huge win against New England last week. Pittsburgh Finally fixed there “Patriot-problem.” Pittsburgh was 1-6 against New England before this game. Pittsburgh’s offense scored early and often to jump to a 10-point lead and never looked back. The Steelers fought off a late New England serge to take the top spot in the AFC.Baltimore who started strong this season fell to Tennessee and Jacksonville; the Ravens did not play well on either side of the ball in the Monday Night game two weeks ago. They came back after being down 24-3 to the 2-6 Arizona Cardinals last week. The Steelers look to win its fifth straight game against Baltimore. Ben is 7-1 all time against the Ravens at Heinz Field and they have won six of the last nine meetings including playoffs

The top spot in the AFC and the lead of the AFC North are up for grabs on Sunday Night Football on NBC.

My NFL Picks Week 9

Atlanta at Indianapolis
My Pick: Atlanta

New York Jets at Buffalo
My Pick: Buffalo
The Jets are coming off their bye week, which proved fatal for the Patriots last week. The Jets, under head coach Rex Ryan are 0-2 after the bye weeks. Look for the defense to have some sloppy tackles and Sanchez to not be on point. Buffalo picked off New England 4 times over their win to take over the lead of the AFC East and need to confuse Sanchez to pull off a victory on Sunday. New York can grab part of the lead in the AFC East with a win and another Patriots loss. Buffalo will keep the lead with a win

Cleveland at Houston
My Pick: Houston

Seattle at Dallas
My Pick: Dallas

Miami at Kansas City
My Pick: Kansas City

Tampa Bay at New Orleans
My Pick: New Orleans
The Saints made the C'Mon man segment for the first time this year after a bad loss to the Rams. They look to redeem themselves from the lost last week and the lost to Tampa Bay earlier this year. Brees Threw 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions in the loss in week 5. Look for Brees and the Saints to rebound this week and keep their number 1 spot in the NFC South.

San Francisco at Washington
My Pick: San Francisco

Cincinnati at Tennessee
My Pick: Cincinnati

Denver at Oakland
My Pick: Oakland

Green Bay at San Diego
My Pick: Green Bay

St. Louis at Arizona
My Pick: Arizona

New York Giants at New Englans
My Pick: New England

Baltimore at Pittsburgh
My Pick: Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh suffered an embarrassing loss to the Ravens in a week one blowout 35-7. The Steelers turned the ball over seven times and looked very sloppy. Since then the Steelers have gone 6-1 and had a huge win over the Patriots last week to take over the number one slot in the AFC. Look for the Steelers to avenge their week one loss and take full control of their division and the entire AFC. For ESPN's preview of the game click here

Chicago at Philadelphia
My Pick: Philadelphia

Each week, Just Another Sports Show picks a great moment and an equally awful one, plus a key matchup that is not to be missed.

Most Amazing
This week the Pittsburgh Steelers finally got over there slump to the Patriots. Before Sunday's game the
Steelers were 6-1 in there last 7 meetings, including playoffs. The Steelers held Brady early and often, Brady completed 24 passes for 198 yards. The Steelers got off to a 10-0 start and never left the lead. The Steelers took advantage of the Patroits poor passing defense, you can find more about just how bad they are here The Steelers went to 6-2 sitting atop the AFC, they have a great match-up next week against rival Baltimore. Winner of this game takes the AFC north lead as long with the top spot in the AFC.

C'Mon Man!
Last week the Saints embarrassed the Colts 62-7 setting Saints franchise records in both points score and victory margin. BUT they came into St Louis (another winless team) the very next week and lost 31-21! In the second quarter the Rams were up 24-0 and Brees threw 2 interceptions. The Saints tried to fight back but gave the Rams there first win of the season.

What 2 Watch 4
#1 LSU @ #2 Alabama
Saturday 8PM Bryant-Denny Stadium

This is the match-up all college football fans have been waiting for. With 3 games left in the season after this one LSU tries to keep their number one spot. LSU is the underdog though because Alabama has home field advantage. For more information on the spread check here

My NFL Picks Week 6

Atlanta at Detroit
My Pick: Detroit

Chicago at Tampa Bay
My Pick: Chicago

Seattle at Cleveland
My Pick: Cleveland

Denver at Miami:
My Pick: Denver
This is Tim Tebow's first start this season at the Broncos. Orton was benched after a disappointing start to the season. Tebow gets his first start against a winless Dolphin team who had quarterback issues of their own. Look for Tebow to get comfortable early and get a few touchdown passes in his opener on UF day at SunLife Stadium

Houston at Tennessee
My Pick: Tennesse

San Diego at New York Jets
My Pick: San Diego

Washington at Carolina
My Pick: Carolina

Kansas City at Oakland
My Pick: Oakland

Pittsburgh at Arizona
My Pick: Pittsburgh
This is a rematch of Super Bowl 40, where Pittsburgh fought at late comeback from the Cardinals. Two players on the Cardinals team were on the Steelers winning team. Joey Porter and Clark Haggins are linebackers currently on the team. Arizona's QB Kolb has not filled into his role now and has his team 1-4. The Steelers just passed the Jags last week. Look for the Steelers to win big in this one. Roesthlisberer is healthy and Mendenhall had a big game last week earning him the AFC offensive player of the week.

St. Louis at Dallas
My Pick: Dallas

Green Bay at Minnesota
My Pick: Green Bay

Indianapolis at New Orleans
My Pick: New Orleans

Baltimore at Jacksonville
My Pick: Baltimore
This is yet another boring Monday Night Game, Jacksonville went 8-8 last year and is hosting the same amount of MNF games that the defending Super Bowl Champions have (Green Bay, 1 at home) and more than the AFC Champions do (Steelers, 1 away)

Thursday, October 6, 2011

Each week, Just Another Sports Show picks a great moment and an equally awful one, plus a key matchup that is not to be missed.

Most Amazing
The unranked Pittsburgh Panthers running back Ray Graham ran for 226 yards and scored 2 touchdowns on 26 carries against #16 University of South Florida Bulls. Graham averaged 8.5 yard per carry in a huge win against a Big East opponent

C'Mon Man!

Monday Night Football Pulls Opening Song

For the first time in 20 years, Monday Night Football did not open with a song by Hank Williams's Jr. The country singer turned MNF star was on Fox News Channel's "Fox and Friends" Monday morning when a simple politics talk turned offensive when Williams compared President Obama to Hitler. The newscasters were stunned and almost speechless after hearing this rant. ESPN immediately posted a statement saying they will not open Monday's game with Williams's song.

This Week in Sports

Most Amazing
The Buffalo Bills beat the New England Patriots for the first time in 2,940 days. The 2003 season was the last time the Bills beat them. And this win was an amazing one. The Bills came back from 21 points down in the first half, picked off Brady 4 times and won by 3 points 34-31 by kicking a field goal as time expired

C'Mon Man!
After leading 20-0 in the first half, the Minnesota Vikings went into halftime believing they were going to beat the Detroit Lions yet again. But Matt Stafford and the "Comeback" Lions quickly came back scoring 10 points to the Vikings 0 in the 3rd quarter. The fourth quarter got worse for the Vikings as Detroit scored 13 to the Vikings 3 forcing overtime. A Calvin Johnson catch got the Lions within field goal range and kicked a field goal in OT to come from behind and beat the Vikings.
